After developing an interest in theatre as a child attending touring musicals with their mother, Zander Lee’s desire was to experience both on- and off-stage theatre roles. After leaving school, Zander studied to be a drama teacher, thriving in the creative roles of director and designer.

Over time, Zander’s interest in the technical aspects of theatre grew and the arts industry beckoned; undertaking a Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services at the Adelaide College of the Arts, TAFE SA was a natural progression.

Zander now works as a professional lighting technician at the Adelaide Festival Centre, developing their technician and programmer skills to move into a board operator or set electrics role.

Zander’s long-term goal is to work as a Theatre Technician in schools, incorporating their educational experience and technical skills. Through focussing on creating a safe space for young people, they look forward to providing technical training, mentoring and pathways into industry.
