We can support you

The South Australian Skills Commission offers a trusted and free-of-charge service that assists with the resolution of disputes related to apprenticeships and traineeships. Apprentices, trainees and employers can seek assistance with disagreements relating to Training Contract variations, on or off- job training or other matters.

We can also help vocational education and training (VET) students, including international students, who have a complaint about their training provider. We provide advice, advocacy, negotiation and mediation to support and enable you to resolve your concerns.

Support for students

Contact us if you are a local or international VET student who has a complaint about your training provider. For example, where you believe your training provider has not met the terms and conditions of your enrolment agreement or their policies, including in relation to fees and refunds, cancellation of enrolment, work placements and course or provider transfers.

We provide free advice and support related to training in Australia for international students studying a vocational education and training (VET) qualification. If we are not the right agency to help you, we will find the correct agency or person who can. Interpreters can be arranged on request.

We can help if you have a disagreement with your employer regarding a Training Contract variation or another matter such as your on – job training (for example scope of work, supervision or workplace safety issues) or off- job training (for example release for trade school or payment of training fees).
