Hugo Kregar

Certificate III in Carpentry

Training Provider: Adelaide Training & Employment Centre

Host Employer: Michael Kregar Building Pty Ltd

Hugo gained a wealth of knowledge and personal development through his apprenticeship in carpentry, completing Certificate III in Carpentry through Maxima Training Group and employer, Michael Kregar Building in Berri.

Beyond technical carpentry skills, Hugo is passionate about on-site mental health and was proud to organise training in partnership with 'Mates in Construction', for more than 40 trade professionals and sub-contractors from his organisation.

He also takes an active role in encouraging local young people to undertake apprenticeships in the industry.

Over the past two years, Hugo has been studying a Bachelor of Construction Management while completing his apprenticeship.

Mitchell Bertram

Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician

Host Employer: AGL Energy

As soon as he began a Certificate II in Electrotechnology during Years 11 and 12 at Golden Grove High, Mitchell fell in love with the industry.

He progressed his career through hands-on education to augment his study and was nominated for the 2019 PEER Student of the Year by his lecturer, with whom he had a valuable mentoring relationship.

TAFE SA helped Mitchell advance his skills and knowledge through Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician.

With an average pass mark of 98% across the Capstone final assessments, Mitchell's passion is bringing results.

He is also undertaking a Certificate IV in Instrumentation and Control, to continue his success in the industry and excel on his personal training pathway.

Samuel White

Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology

Samuel’s interest in cars, machinery and trucks from a young age still drives his passion to understand and fix large machinery.

He recently completed a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology, as a diesel mechanic for road transport vehicles. Since training with the Motor Trade Association of SA/NT, he is employed with his host, Detrac Diesel.

Samuel is interested in the transition to alternative powered vehicles between battery electric and hydrogen fuel cells.

He endorses a trade through The MTA Group Training Scheme Inc as a fantastic pathway to essential skills and industry knowledge, while being paid to gain a qualification, and to be part of what keeps this country moving and developing.

Tyler Carroll

Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician

Host employer: Precise Services

Tyler is fascinated by how electricity works, and solving problems, so electrotechnology is a natural fit.

His apprenticeship was supported by Trainee & Apprentice Placement Service Inc. (TAPS), and host employer Precise Services (PS).

Gaining first hand experience in a real-world work environment solidified his interest in the electrical trade.

He went on to complete off the job training at Tonsley and Elizabeth TAFE SA campuses, then secured a position at Ahrens Group Pty Ltd as a surface/underground electrician at Olympic Dam.

Tyler is grateful for guidance from his mentors along his training pathway, which played a crucial role in shaping him, both as an electrician and as a person.
