The South Australian Government is inviting nominations from individuals interested in becoming a member of the South Australian Skills Commission (the Commission) for a term of two years commencing 1 July 2025.
Please review the Board Member Specification for an overview of the role and appointment process.
The South Australian Skills Commission (the Commission) is an independent statutory body established under the South Australian Skills Act 2008 (the Act) with responsibility for performing the functions and exercising the powers conferred upon it by the Act.
The Commission plays an integral role in identifying strategies and priorities for skills and workforce development, monitoring how the skills sector is performing and supporting employment growth and economic outcomes for South Australia. Industry Skills Councils support the Commission through providing advice on how government can invest in a highly skilled workforce.
Members of the Commission hold leadership positions and experience in practicing sound corporate governance, independence and the ability to make balanced administrative decisions. Members have a demonstrated ability to take a strategic view of the State’s skills and workforce needs, be responsive to government priorities and provide guidance on how to meet them.
Members will be appointed by the Minister for Education, Training and Skills for their personal skills and knowledge, not representing an organisation, and are required to exercise these for the benefit of the Commission as a whole.
To express your interest to become a member of the South Australian Skills Commission you must submit a completed nomination form and an up-to-date Curriculum Vitae (CV).
If you wish to save progress on an incomplete nomination form, please use the Save button at the bottom of each page. This allows you to create an account and log back in later to edit and submit your form. Please ensure it is completed and submitted prior to 5.00pm (ACST) Friday 2 May 2025.
