South Australia takes centre stage at the 2024 Australian Training Awards in Canberra

South Australia was shining at the 2024 Australian Training Awards, held on 6 December 2024 at the National Convention Centre in Canberra. The state proudly claimed some of the top honours, strengthening its commitment to excellence in vocational education and training (VET).

The 30th anniversary of the Australian Training Awards saw a celebration of the dedication, perseverance, and ongoing commitment of the VET sector, with awards recognising the achievements of apprentices, trainees, students, educators, employers, and training providers from across the country.

The 2024 Australian Training Awards brought together finalists, winners, and representatives from all states and territories, highlighting their fantastic achievements in the skills sector.

The Australian Training Awards are about recognising the dedication and achievements of people in the VET sector and how VET plays a future-shifting role for so many individuals and the communities they live and work in. Looking at the finalists this year, it is clear the VET touches every corner of this country. “Along with the Commonwealth, we have invested $2.3 billion as part of the National Skills Agreement - an unprecedented level of investment that has seen skills at the centre of our state's economic growth. We have also invested $208 million into five technical colleges that will provide a key role of providing more school students with access to high- quality vocational education programs that will prepare them for the workforce in areas of high demand.
