About SA Country Fire Service

The vision of the CFS is to be the best volunteer fire and rescue service in the world.

The CFS serves communities through dedicated volunteers delivering professional fire and rescue services to outer metropolitan, regional and rural South Australia.

As an all-hazards agency, the CFS responds to bushfires, building fires, road crash rescues and hazardous material emergencies, with CFS volunteers attending around 8,000 incidents and dedicating three million hours each year, for safety and resilience in our communities.

The CFS works alongside the SA Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS), the SA State Emergency Service (SES), and local government to reduce fuel and educate the community.

An enterprise registered training organisation since 2000, the CFS offers volunteers and staff nationally recognised training across six qualifications, three accredited short courses, and many units of competency.
