It was a hive of construction activity at TAFE SA’s Tonsley Campus for the WorldSkills Australia (WSA) 2026 Regional Competitions. More than 70 apprentices across 10 construction trades worked to impress judges for the chance to win gold and represent South Australia at next year’s WorldSkills Australia National Championships – being held in Adelaide for the first time in 26 years.
Hon Lucy Hood MP, Minister for Education Training and Skills joined Commissioner Cameron Baker, Chair of the South Australian Skills Commission, to speak with competitors about the skills they are building in high-demand trades and the crucial role they will play in delivering major projects across South Australia.
